Valdez stops Tommazone in the seventh round

In one of the main events of a boxing night in Frisco, Texas, after a year of inactivity and jaw fracture, WBO featherweight champion Oscar Valdez (25-0, 20 KOs) successfully returned to the ring, scoring a TKO victory over the previously undefeated Carmine Tommazone (19 1, 5 KOs) in the seventh round. For the fight against the Italian Valdez was preparing under the guidance of the new coach Eddie Reynoso, the famous mentor of Saul Alvarez. The time was 0:09.

Tommazone hit the floor twice in the fourth from body punches and once in the sixth and seventh rounds, the last time from the right uppercut.
