IBF junior welterweight champion Ivan Baranchyk of Belarus refuses to participate in the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS). The manager Dave McWater reported that the reason was a disagreement with the organizers on financial issues, as well as the lack of feedback.
In the semifinals of the tournament, Baranchyk was about to meet Josh Taylor. The fight had to take place from January to March in Scotland. The 26-year-old Baranchyk won all his 19 fights, 12 of which by knockout.
In this weight category former world champion Viktor Postol of Ukraine is a substitute. He had his previous fight on November 5. Postol was success in his return on the undercard of Taylor's bout in the WBSS quarter-finals.
