Nurmagomedov: In America everyone calls me the Russian

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov explained why he does not walk out on his fights with the Russian flag. “That’s not true,” said Nurmagomedov. “There’s above on the screens the flag of the country. Everyone in America calls me — who does not know Dagestan, Chechnya, and the Caucasus — the Russian. And if you notice, even the foreign fighters who talk about me, everyone says that I am Russian. So for them we are one nation, for them we are one people. Most importantly, that our people should not divide us. Such as you, for example. So that you don’t ask such stupid questions.”

“There, abroad, no one divides us. Those who divide us want us to be divided,” Nurmagomedov said.
