Lemieux to fight in super middleweight

Former middleweight champion David Lemieux will no longer compete in this division. This was announced by his manager, Camille Estefan. This decision was made after an unsuccessful weight loss by a Canadian last week.

“We are going to rise to super middleweight and see what happens next. But before that, we’ll examine the metabolic problems that David had. We need to understand what was wrong. Why his body does not always react in the same way to weight loss,” Estefan said.

On December 15 Lemieux was supposed to appear on the undercard of Saul Alvarez vs Rocky Fielding fight. It was planned that Lemieux will meet Tureano Johnson. But the Canadian was unable to make the desired weight. On the eve of weigh-in, he was dehydrated and was hospitalized.
