Stevenson comes out of the coma

Former light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson came out of a medically induced coma, into which he was brought after the fight for the world champion's title with Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk.

The fight took place in Canadian Quebec on the night of December 2 and ended with a knockout in the 11th round. After the fight, Stevenson was hospitalized and placed in the intensive care unit. He was later induced into a coma due to possible cerebral hemorrhage.

According to the Canadian mass media, Stevenson opened his eyes and managed to communicate with his relatives. The general condition of the athlete is assessed as stable, there are chances for recovery, but according to unconfirmed information, his right part of the body is paralyzed.
