Unified lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (12-1, 9 KOs) commented on his victory over José Pedraza (25-2, 12 KOs) in the main event of the evening at the Madison Square Garden in New York, in which he added the WBO title to his WBA championship belt.

“Pedraza is a real warrior, he did an excellent job,” said Vasyl after the battle. “I respect Pedraza and his team. Very good work, thank you. Of course, I am pleased with my performance. I became a little closer to my dream, my goal. I would like to congratulate Bob Arum on his birthday, and I would like to thank my team and everyone who came to support me.”

“Everything is fine with the shoulder, no problem. I am 100% healthy, - answered Lomachenko when asked if he recovered fully from the injury of his right shoulder he got in his previous battle with Linares. “What do titles mean for me? I have said before, I do not want to repeat. Of course, I want two other belts, and maybe next year we could organize a fight with Mikey Garcia.”
