In one of the main events of a boxing evening in Glasgow, Scotland, the WBC silver super lightweight champion Josh Taylor (14-0, 12 KOs) scored a TKO victory in the seventh round over the previously undefeated Ryan Martin (22-1, 12 KOs). The time to was 2:21.

Thus, Taylor went to the semifinals of the second season of the World Boxing Super Series, where he will meet the Beast from Belarus Ivan Baranchyk. In the second semifinal Regis Prograis will meet Kiryl Relikh.

Martin spent the fight too passively, spending most of the time in defense, to the apparent dissatisfaction of his trainer Abel Sánchez, and Taylor convincingly took round after round due to the activity and hard work on the body. By the sixth round, a small cut opened near Martin’s left eye.

The end came in the seventh round, when Taylor struck the exact left hook to the head, from which Martin fell to the ropes. The American began to signal that the blow fell on the back of his head, Taylor rushed to the finish and landed a few more punches until the referee waved it off without counting.

After the fight, Taylor and his coach Shane McGuigan thanked Victor Postol for the previous difficult fight, thanks to which he allegedly got better and was better prepared for the fight with Martin.
