Interim WBC light heavyweight champion Alexander Gvozdyk (15-0, 12 KOs) is confident that he will be able to defeat WBC belt owner Adonis Stevenson (29-1-1, 24 KOs).

“It doesn’t bother me that the fight will take place on the territory of my opponent. I do not like to make predictions, but I can promise you that I will win this fight, by knockout or by a decision, but the victory will be mine. I do not know Stevenson as a person, but I know him as a boxer very well, he fights aggressively and has a strong punch, he has good fighting skill, so in this fight the most important thing is to miss the punches as little as possible. I know that I will become a full-fledged world champion and Stephenson opens this door for me.

“As long everything goes perfectly, I follow the regime and do everything I need to win. As you know, I am currently working with Teddy Atlas. The training process with him is completely different. He has a completely different approach, but I'm already used to his mode of training. Of course, we can judge his work only when we get the result.”
