In the main event of the undercard of the boxing evening at Wembley, Luke Campbell (19-2, 15 KOs) took revenge over Yvan Mendy (40-5-1, 19 KOs), winning a unanimous decision. The scores were: 119-109, 118-111, 116-112. Thus, Campbell won the status of official contender for the WBC lightweight title, which is currently owned by Mikey Garcia.

Campbell moved around the ring a lot and landed more precise and accurate punches, often working on the body. According to CompuBox statistics, 52% of all Campbell punches fell on the body. After the fight, Campbell paid tribute to his new coach, Shane McGuigan.

In their first meeting in December 2015, Mendy defeated Campbell by a split decision. In the fifth round of that fight, Luke was on the floor. This defeat was the first in the career of the 2012Olympic champion.
