Adam Kownacki (18-0, 14 KOs) in a spectacular and close confrontation scored a unanimous decision win over former world heavyweight champion Charles Martin (25-2-1, 23 KOs) as part of a boxing event in Brooklyn, New York . The judges gave 96-94 in favor of the Polish boxer.

Kownacki began the battle better and started quickly and began to land heavy blows from the very beginning. Kownacki was more active and constantly troubled the American who preferred defense action. But, despite a lot of clean hits, Kownacki could not send his opponent to the floor. Despite the fact that the protection of Kownacki had plenty of gaps, the first four rounds went to him.

Since the fifth round, the fight has leveled off, Kownacki remained active, but Martin's attacks became more accurate. Martin several times landed precise left hooks, but the Pole managed to withstand these blows due to his strong jaw.

The last two rounds took place in the exciting exchanges. Both fighters looked tired, but no one wanted to step back. Kownacki went forward, but Martin, too, was not bad at it. In the end, despite a lot of clean hits, no one went to the floor and the fight ended on points.

For Kownacki this victory was the second in this year and at the same time the most important in the pro ranks. Martin lost for the second time in his career. Prior to that, he lost to Anthony Joshua.
