Egis Klimas, manager of the undisputed cruiserweight champion Alexander Usik (15-0, 11 KOs) said that the Ukrainian team is getting closer to finalizing a fight against Tony Bellew (30-2-1, 20 KOs).
"Progress has been noticeable, and we are getting closer to organizing the Usyk - Bellew fight in Britain. We want to make this fight in November and negotiations are ongoing about the cruiserweights. This fight is by no means part of the second season of WBSS. This is the first defense of all titles by Alexander Usyk. At the moment, there is no point in making the belts vacant, because after Bellew in this weight there can be more good fights. There is always more interest and money, when the belts are at stake."
