The other day the former interim champion in the UFC lightweight division, Tony Ferguson, left an angry message to Anthony Pettis in Instagram, reminding the former champion of the conflict between their teams before the UFC 181 tournament in December 2014. Showtime commented on the verbal attack from his nearest rival.
"I've heard about this publication, but I do not follow anyone on social networks or anything like that. I did not know when he posted this, but I know what he's talking about. It was a long time before the UFC 181 tournament. Then I was preparing for a fight with Gilbert Meledez, and Tony was trying to come to the gym where I had already trained. My coaches asked his team to wait, because, most likely, in the future we will have a fight. So if he regards this as disrespect, then this is his opinion. It's just common sense. You do not have to look at training of a fighter who is your potential rival," Pettis said.
Ferguson-Pettis fight is scheduled on October 6 at the UFC 229 tournament in Las Vegas.
