Ryota Murata (14-1, 11 KOs) and Rob Brant (23-1, 16 KOs) teams finally reached an agreement on the fight for the "regular" WBA middleweight belt, belonging to the Japanese. The bout is scheduled for October 20 in Las Vegas.
Last week, promoters of Murata boycotted participation in the promotional bids, explaining that the division of purse offered by the WBA is unfair. It seemed that the most likely scenario in this situation would be the refusal of Murata from the title and Brant meeting another opponent from the rating of the World Boxing Association.
In the end, the Japanese agreed to a fight with an American, and the duel will be shown in the US by ESPN. For Murata, who defeated Italian Emanuele Blandamura in April, this will be the second fight in this year.
