Undisputed cruiserweight champion Alexander Usyk (15-0, 11 KOs) believes that coach Anatoly Lomachenko deserves the highest award for his work.
"If we talk about heroism, and whom to award, then it is such a person as Anatoly Lomachenko. He brought up a two-time Olympic champion. Yes, and he brought me to Olympic gold. He brought up a large number of boxers. But the most important thing that he did was to educate his son, Vasily Lomachenko, and put his strength in me."
It was Lomachenko, Sr., who was preparing Usyk for the WBSS final against Murat Gassiev.
