Gassiev: Today was Alexander's Day

Former cruiserweight champion Murat Gassiev (26-1, 19 KOs) commented in the ring on his first career defeat at the hands of Alexander Usyk (15-0, 11 KOs) in their final fight within the World Boxing Super Series with four champion belts at stake.

"First of all, I want to congratulate Alexander’s team on their excellent work. Thank you for the fight. And I want to thank all boxing fans from Ukraine, Russia, from all around the world who are rooting for boxing. Today I met the best opponent in my professional career. Prior to this tournament, he was considered the favorite, and he proved it. Once again, I congratulate Alexander's team. For me, this is a good experience. Today was Alexander's day," Gassiev said after the fight.
