Former WBO middleweight champion Dmitry Pirog shared his expectations of the fight between Ukrainian Alexander Usyk and Russian Murat Gassiev in the World Boxing Super Series final. The fight should take place on July 21 in the Moscow sports complex "Olympic".
"I give my preference to Gassiev. When the rivals in this fight became known, everyone considered Usyk to be the favorite, and Murat was not perceived as a serious opponent. And when they asked me who I wanted to see in the finals, I said Usyk and Gassiev, because they have different styles. And besides, of all the rivals in the tournament only Gassiev can present a surprise to Usyk. And the most difficult opponent for Usyk in this tournament is Gassiev.
“It will not just be a fight, it will be a chess game. Of course, everything can end before the final bell, but if you look closely, the fighters will challenge each other. I would like the fight to last as long as possible, and the fighters showed their high level, avoiding knockouts," Pirog said.
