Kremlev: Violations of the contract for Gassiev fight could affect Usyk’s career

Umar Kremlev the General Secretary of the Russian Boxing Federation says that the cancellation of the final fight of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) could adversely affect the career of WBC and WBO cruiserweight champion Alexander Usyk (14-0, 11 KOs).

"The contracts of boxers with WBSS are quite tough, so the failure of a fight by one of the parties can have serious consequences, in particular, courts. The organization of the battle has already spent a decent amount of funds. But in fact, this is the area of WBSS responsibility, and we can negotiate only with them. Well, a violation of the contract and subsequent proceedings may affect the career of Usyk," Kremlev said.
