Povetkin says he plans to fight Joshua in England in the fall

The fight between Alexander Povetkin and Anthony Joshua may happen in England this fall, Povetkin says. Povetkin is the official contender for the WBA title, which is owned by Joshua. The WBA sanctioned a fight between them and gave the teams 30 days to negotiate. However, Joshua himself said that he intended to fight against Deontey Wilder.

"I became an obligatory challenger for the title of world champion, and therefore there must be a fight with Anthony Joshua. When and where it takes place, it is still unknown, it all depends on the promoters. Most likely, the fight will be in England in the fall," Povetkin said.
