Last weekend middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin got a KO victory over Vanes Martirosyan, thereby defending his belt for the 20th time, and equaled this figure with the legendary Bernard Hopkins. After the battle, Golovkin and his coach Abel Sanchez respectfully commented on Hopkins, but when asked about how their fight could develop, Sanchez said he would give preference to his ward.

"If they met at the peak of their careers, it would be a great fight," Sanchez said. "I think Gennady's power would have played a role, but Bernard was also a great champion in 160."

"After 20 defense of the title you feel like a star, because if you look at Bernard's opponents, you will understand that my record is much more impressive, stronger, bigger," Golovkin added in turn. "This is a good situation for my career, and for my fans, of course. That's for sure".
