The bout between former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and Michael Chiesa will take place at the UFC 226 tournament on July 7 in Las Vegas, USA. Initially, the meeting of these fighters was scheduled for April 7, but the medical commission did not allow Chiesa to fight because of the dissection received as a result of Conor McGregor's attack on the bus with the participants of the UFC 223 tournament.

Chiesa (14-3) in April 2016 won a major victory over Beneil Dariusz, but a spinal injury forced the American to stand idle for more than a year. Michael's return took place last June, but it turned out unsuccessful - Kevin Lee won by a stifling reception in the first round.

Pettis (20-7), after losing the title in March 2015, had six fights, in which he scored only two wins and four concessions. Anthony made an unsuccessful voyage (1-1) in the featherweight division, but due to problems with weight gain he returned to 155 pounds. Last July Pettis beat Jim Miller on points, and in November he lost to Dustin Porie, giving up because of a rib injury.

In the main event of UFC 226 heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will meet the former holder of the light heavyweight title Daniel Cormier.
