Promoter Eddie Hearn shared his opinion on the removal of Saul Alvarez from the fights to the next meeting of the Nevada Athletics Commission, which will be held on April 10.
"Elimination of Alvarez is very bad for the upcoming rematch with Golovkin. The hearing is scheduled for three weeks before the battle. If the decision is negative, many will suffer. People already book rooms in the hotels, bought tickets for the fight, TV companies planed promo actions. Nobody knows how it will end. I'm sure that Golovkin and his team are already thinking over the reserve options. I hope that the battle will take place, although it is difficult to say how this will be from the point of view of sport ethics.
"If Alvarez just ate something - the fight should take place. But if the dope was taken deliberately, then everything is more complicated. I believe that Alvarez is guilty. The problem of dirty meat is in Mexico, but Saul is rich enough to eat clean and quality food," said Eddie Hearn.
