Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo believes that the veteran Frankie Edgar should not have taken on short notice a fight with Brian Ortega, which ended in the KO victory of the latter.

"A new generation is coming. Time spares no one. For me the result of their fight was not surprising. I believe that Edgar made a big mistake by taking the fight on a short notice with Ortega. Brian is a very tough guy. Frankie was supposed to hold a title fight, but he took the risk and lost. Now he again needs to pave the way for the title.

"Fight against Holloway or Ortega? These are very equal rivals. And they are about the same reach. In punching skills none of them is a great specialist. The only special skill that I see is the Ortega's guillotine, which is very dangerous. But Max will not transfer the fight to the ground, he will stand on his feet. The outcome of the battle will be decided in the stance.

"For me, the best scenario is Brian's victory. In this case, I will have more chances to become the next title contender," Aldo said.
