Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, during the meeting at California State Athletic Commission, said he did not use the specific steroid and could not explain how the banned substance got into his body.

"It all looks like a very unpleasant situation. I have no idea how all this happened and how the prohibited drug got into my body. Try to put yourself on my place. I do not know how it all happened. I'm just trying to figure it out, like everyone else. I swear by the Lord that I did not do anything wrong. I swear.

"It would be crazy to take prohibited substances and thereby to cancel the months of heavy training. You can call me an idiot and a party-goer, but I will not resign myself with the nickname of a crook. I'm not the person who escaped from the scene three years ago," Jones said.
