WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko at a press conference in Kiev dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the program "Big Boxing" on Inter TV channel and his approaching 30th birthday announced that his next fight with a 90% probability will be against WBA lightweight champion Jorge Linares. This meeting will take place on 12 May.
"As the promoters tells me, the contract with Linares will be signed within the next week. Linares is a good rival for me. He is a very experienced and classy boxer, throwing multi-punch combinations all fight. I will be pleased to come out against him in a bout in the new weight category," Lomachenko said.
Lomachenko also commented on Floyd Mayweather's recent statement that his current promoter is not paying him enough: "If you find someone who offers me more, I'll be happy to listen to you. I have a contract that I signed and all the terms of which, including purses, are fulfilling. In this regard, I have no questions. Do I worth more? Of course, I do worth more," Lomachenko said.
