Two undefeated cruiserweight champions Alexander Usyk and Mairis Briedis successfully passed the weigh-in 7 days before the fight, which will take place on January 27 in Riga, Latvia. According to the rules of WBC, in the title battles, weigh-ings are provided for 30 and 7 days before the battle.
30 days before the fight, the weight of Usyk was 95.7 kg, Briedis - 95.5 kg.
7 days before the fight, the weight of Usyk was 93.5 kg, Briedis - 94 kg.
The day before the battle, on Friday, the opponents will have to meet the weight limit of cruiserweight - 90.7 kilo or 200 pound.
At the stake of the meeting will also be the WBO belt, owned by Usyk, and the duel will have the status of unification. In addition to two titles, the winner will fight in the finals of World Boxing Super Series for Muhammad Ali Trophy with the winner of the pair Murat Gassiev - Yunier Dorticos, who will meet in Sochi on February 3.
