Speaking at FS1 during today's tournament in St. Louis, UFC president Dana White tried to tell fans about the organization's immediate actions regarding the intricate situation in the lightweight division.
According to the UFC boss, the promotion began to work out a duel between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov, as Conor McGregor said he could not return earlier than September. On the question of whether the Irish superstar will be stripped of the title, White replied: "Absolutely."
Consequently, if White's words once again do not disperse with the case, the current holder of the interim title Ferguson will automatically become a full-fledged champion and his first defense will be against Nurmagomedov.
The other day Nurmagomedov returned to training and announced that in February he will start a training camp to prepare for the April comeback.
