Former world cruiserweight champion Russian Grigory Drozd officially announced information that looked quite obvious earlier: he is not going to return to the professional ring and retire.

"Dear friends, fans of boxing! I have a very important day today. I made a very important decision. I, Grigory Drozd, world boxing champion, officially declare the end of my sports career. I want to say a big thank you to coach Sergey Vasiliev. He walked with me all the way from beginning to end. I want to thank my second coach Vitaly Miller, my physical conditioning coach Vasily Volkov  the masseur Sergei Goncharenko and my manager Anton Zhdanov," Drozd said in his Instagram.

"I want to thank my promoters - it's Herman Titov, my first promoter Vladimir Khryunov, with whom we had three fights. And, of course, the company "World of Boxing" and Andrei Ryabinsky. This man gave me the opportunity to realize my dreams. Together with him we climbed to the highest step of the pedestal and became world champions," added Drozd.
