The editorial board of HBO called Joshua-Klitschko the Fight of the 2017 year

April match between Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) and Wladimir Klitschko (64-5, 53 KOs) was chosen by HBO specialists as the best fight of 2017.

9 out of 12 American television professionals voted for the fight for the WBA and IBF championships. The remaining three voices were given to Gennady Golovkin's fight against Saul Alvarez.

The dramatic battle of Klitschko and Joshua, in which both boxers were on the floor, ended in a victory of the British by technical knockout in the eleventh round. The 40-year-old Ukrainian had the opportunity for a rematch with Joshua, but Wladimir did not use it and in August announced the retirement and ended his remarkable career.
