Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, who is on friendly terms with WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders, says that he does not doubt Saunders' victory over a boogeyman of middleweight division Gennady Golovkin.
“I’m very confident,” said Tyson Fury. “What is he going to do, chase him around the ring trying to land one big punch like that guy [Lemieux]. That style is almost impregnable. The only way to beat someone like that is to knock them out with one punch, because you’re not going to win, are you? It’s very awkward, being a southpaw too. The movement was excellent, and the fitness was very, very hard to beat.”
“With his awkward southpaw style and his fast hands, I think he gives him trouble, very much so,” Fury told. “And I think Golovkin will go into a sort of performance where he’ll sort of think he needs to knock out [Saunders]. It’ll be a cat-and-mouse job again, same kind of thing. Same kind of thing.”
