Ramirez destroys Reed

Andrew Karlov Nov. 11, 2017, 11:14 p.m.

Undefeated 2012 Olympian Jose Ramirez (21-0, 16 KOs) needed two rounds to break the resistance of the undefeated Mike Reed (23-1, 12 KOs). In the second round, Reed was on the floor, and the fight was stopped after a follow up barrage. The time was 1:43. Reed complained about the stoppage.

Ramirez's next fight could be for the vacant WBC super lightweight title, which Terence Crawford left vacant. Ramirez may face Amir Imam (20-1, 17 KOs) who's first in the WBC ratings. Imam on the same boxing card in Fresno, California, won an stoppage victory in the 4th round over Johnny Garcia (19-5-1, 11 KOs).
