Ukrainian featherweight Oleg Yefimovich (29-3-1, 16 KOs) lost in the sixth round to the ex-world champion Scott Quigg (34-1-2, 25 KOs) in the 12th round battle for the position of an official challenger for the WBA title. For Yefimovich this was the first stoppage defeat in his career. For the fight Quigg was preparing under the guidance of the new coach the famous American specialist Freddie Roach.

Yefimovich was not on the floor, but in the sixth round he began to miss heavy blows one by one. The referee's stoppage looked slightly premature, but did not cause any disputes including Yefimovich and his team.
