Nurmagomedov to work with former nutritionist before Barbosa fight

Russian MMA fighter Habib Nurmagomedov will continue to work with the former nutritionist in preparation for his fight against the Brazilian Edison Barbosa. This was reported by the manager of Russian athlete Rizvan Magomedov. Fight Barbosa vs Nurmagomedov will be held on December 30 at UFC 219 in Las Vegas.

"There will be the same nutritionist, there were no problems with this, there were health problems," Magomedov said. "We have healed old injuries, now Habib is OK. As for the nutritionist, he works with many stars, including McGregor, Cormier and Rockhold, and there's no reason to distrust him."

Nurmagomedov had to fight Tony Ferguson for UFC lightweight interim title on March 5 at UFC 209 tournament in Las Vegas. The interim title in the future gave the winner a chance to meet with the Irish fighter Conor MacGregor in a fight for the main belt of the organization in this weight category, but several hours before the official weigh-in Nurmagomedov was hospitalized because of the accelerated procedure of losing weight.

Nurmagomedov later noted that there were no nutritionist’s fault in the accident. But he also confirmed that health problems started in the process of weight losing.
