Joe Joyce debuts as a pro via TKO

Silver Olympic Games medalist of Rio Briton Joe Joyce made his professional debut via TKO victory. October 20 in London, Jones stopped the experienced Ian Lewison (12-4-1, 8 KOs) in the eighth round. Lewison’s corner threw in a towel when their ward began to miss the blow after blow and was on the verge of knock out.

Joyce’s debut fight was scheduled for 10 rounds. By the fourth round, near the right eye of Lewison formed a large hematoma. After the victory, Joyce performed in the ring one of the trick jumps of capoeira.

32-year-old Joyce fought at the main event of the evening, organized by the promotional company of David Hay Haymaker Ringstar, which also became the first show broadcasted on the British television channel Dave, with which the company signed a contract.
