Derevyanchenko stoppes Johnson in the 12th round

In the battle for IBF official middleweight challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko (11-0, 9 KO) scored a hard fought TKO victory in the 12th round over Tureano Johnson (20-2, 14 KOs) in the main event of the evening at the Buffalo Run Casino In Miami, Oklahoma.

In a difficult confrontation Derevyanchenko managed to send Johnson to the canvas in the final twelfth round thereby achieving a stoppage. Thus Derevyanchenko received a formal right to meet with the winner of the pair Gennady Golovkin - Saul Alvarez.
