Keith Thurman has taunted Danny Garcia ahead of their much anticipated WBC and WBA ‘Super’ World Title unification showdown on March 4th insisting: “You ain’t fought a real Welterweight!” Garcia embarks on his second year in the 147 lbs division with Thurman undoubtedly his toughest test up at the weight during this time frame.
‘One Time’ roared: “He’s coming into a new weight division. You may feel like you’ve been in this weight division but you ain’t fought a true Welterweight yet! It’s going to be a brand new experience for him. We’ll find out if he’s truly the Champion he thinks he is!”
Someone’s unbeaten record will fall when the pair collide at the Barclays Center in New York, live on BoxNation with Thurman’s confidence beaming through.
“Danny can do his best but I’ll show up how I show up best and that’s to win and hurt you!”
WBA strap holder Thurman boasts an impressive 22 KO’s from his 27 victories dating back to 2007 and is backing himself to come through and show Garcia up to unify the belts.
“If you look at my pro career, you can see a progression whereas to me he’s an elite amateur that he always has been. I don’t think he’s progression is as fast as mine and I plan on proving that in the fight!”
The 28 year old added: “This aint new to me. I’ve had the same job since I was seven years old and I love it! I’ve made my dreams come true already. I’m an elite fighter at the top of the ladder.”
With many experts and fans alike struggling to pick a winner, Thurman believes his status as one of the names in the division is already cemented prior to the contest.
“When you prove that people can’t talk about the top fighters in the division without mentioning your name, you have made a great career for yourself.”
