Israel Adesanya, the former UFC middleweight champion, responded to a challenge he was recently given by Dricus Du Plessis, the organization's current middleweight champion.
"This guy said something like, 'He didn't want to fight me, the king of Africa, on my home soil.' You didn't want to fight me on my home soil, so shut your mouth," Adesanya said in a video on his YouTube channel.
Previously, there were rumors that a fight between Adesanya and Du Plessis could have taken place at UFC 300. But in the end they remained rumors.
Du Plessis won a split decision over Sean Strickland in his last fight and became the new UFC middleweight champion.
