UFC American middleweight Brendan Allen believes an unconvincing win over Chris Curtis at UFC Fight Night 240 was a loud enough bid for a title fight with division champion Dricus Du Plessis.

"Chris is a very tough opponent. He's a tough guy to hit and I was exhausted by the fifth round. We kept a good pace, especially considering the short notice. However, I knew what I was signing up for.

Where's my title shot? Chris is a tough guy, we don't have anyone in the division going on a streak like me. Dricus, let's do this, you know I'm going to kick your ass. If I don't get the fight with Dricus, then, Shawn [Strickland], let's do it again. I've already fought Shawn, then I fought Chris. Now let's do it the other way around," Allen said after the fight.
