Almeida spoke out about the situation surrounding the fight with Volkov

Jailton Almeida, a Brazilian UFC heavyweight, commented on the situation surrounding his recently announced bout with Alexander Volkov.

"In fact, matchmaker Mick Maynard offered us a fight with Volkov. We accepted it and signed a contract. Then Mick called and talked to my manager. I don't know anything yet. I'm just training. They said, 'Keep training and we'll let you know.' For now I'm just waiting," reported Almeida.

Just yesterday, the UFC announced Volkov's fight with Sergey Pavlovich. The announcement stated that the clash would take place as part of the UFC On ABC 6 co-main event on June 22 in Saudi Arabia.
