Legendary former UFC champion in two weight categories George St-Pierre said that in 2019-2020 there was a real opportunity to organize his fight with former lightweight division leader Khabib Nurmagomedov.
"I'm 42 years old now. When I turned 40, I told myself it's over. Now nothing can make me come back anymore. The chance to fight Khabib was when I was 38-39 years old. Even people from his team told me, "Hey, there's a chance he'll ask to organize a fight with you." And then he ended his career and everyone was surprised," said St. Pierre on the Pound 4 Pound podcast.
Recall that St. Pierre's last professional fight was in 2017, defeating Michael Bisping with a choke hold.
