Almeida (20-3) accepted a new bout three weeks after he was knocked out by Curtis Blades at UFC 299. Prior to that, the Brazilian had won 15 straight fights, six of them in the UFC.
Volkov (37-10), on the other hand, has a three-fight winning streak as he has consecutively dealt with Jairzinho Rosenstrike, Alexander Romanov and Ty Tuivasa.
The Brazilian and Russian are currently ranked seventh and sixth in the UFC heavyweight division rankings, respectively.
