UFC light heavyweight champion Islam Makhachev has reacted strongly to recent high-profile remarks by former interim titleholder Dustin Puryear.
On March 9 at UFC 299, Puryear spectacularly knocked out Benoit Saint-Denis before stating that his latest career goal is to win a full championship belt.
"Dustin, if you could beat 'anyone' you would own the belt now, not me. Puryear's level is a perennial contender. How many times has he lost in a title fight? Two? Three?" - wrote Makhachev in social network X.
Recall that earlier Makhachev said that he was ready to fight with Puryear at one of the June tournaments.
