John Kavanagh, the coach of former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor, is surprised by his charge's long downtime.

"I'm not going to say I understand all the political nuances of what's going on. But I find it strange that there's no news. I'm really out of the loop. I try to avoid rumors and behind the scenes, Conor's managers are handling that. But it's really strange that a star of this caliber and magnitude doesn't get opportunities to prove himself in the business. Journalists think I have insider information. And I don't know any more than anyone else. Conor is on the road a lot right now. When he gets a fight scheduled, that's when he'll come to me. But he's ready to fight," Kavanagh told MMA Hour.
