"Alvarez is a great fighter, but I feel our guy will prove to be better on this night. I really think Jaime got a great opportunity, he's capable of beating Canelo. We couldn't wait any longer," Oscar was quoted as saying by YouTube channel Fight Hub TV.
The bout between Canelo and Munguia will take place on May 5 in Las Vegas at the super middleweight limit. At stake will be all the championship belts of Alvarez.
Earlier, Alvarez himself claimed that on May 5 he would box with an American instead of his compatriot, but in the end his opponent was Munguia.
