UFC welterweightMichael Page has revealed that the promotion did not allow him a flashy outing for his fight against Kevin Holland.
"I had a big plan. I'm such a creative person and I just can't turn that part of myself off. When I envision fight day, I don't just think about my opponent and how I'm going to beat him ... I think about how I'm going to go into that fight. So I had an idea, my family and I got together, discussed it, composed it, analyzed it, and then presented it to the UFC. It took them a little bit of time. I don't know what their process was, but after that they turned me down. We kept pushing and in the end the UFC only authorized part of what was envisioned. But, if I could do what I wanted to do, it would have been the best exit anyone has seen in the UFC," Page said on The MMA Hour podcast.
As a reminder, Page's fight with Holland took place at UFC 299 and ended with Michael winning by judge's decision. This fight was the debut in the UFC for the British.
