Kamaru Usman, former UFC welterweight champion, is disappointed with the fact that he failed to become the organization's two-weight champion.
"I'm upset that I didn't become a double UFC champion, but I'm not upset that I didn't move up in weight and fight Israel Adesanya. I genuinely didn't want to be a potential reason why Israel didn't become UFC champion. I wasn't interested in that, that kind of thing wasn't for me. I don't want to say I was going to beat him or anything like that. I just wasn't interested in the fact that my championship could be the reason why there potentially wouldn't be another Nigerian UFC champion. If the middleweight champion was Sean Strickland, I would be 1,000 percent up in weight ‎," MMA Fighting Portal quoted Kamaru Usman as saying.
