Adesanya: 'Du Plessis refused to fight at UFC 300'

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya said that he was offered to meet with the current title holder Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 300, scheduled for April 13 in Las Vegas.

“There are things that needed to happen. I was offered to the UFC... I think I can talk about it now. They invited me to perform at UFC 300, and I agreed. However, Du Plessis' side did not want this fight. They refused.

Du Plessis had just fought against Strickland and may have had some minor injuries. But we all have injuries. And what?" Adesanya said in an interview with Theo Von's Podcast.
