Merab Dvalishvili, a Georgian UFC bantamweight fighter, has become an official contender for a title shot. The organization's CEO Dana White announced this at today's press conference, which took place after UFC 298.
“Yes, he will face the winner of the fight between O’Malley and Chito. Merab looked good today. As for Henry, you can't take a break for three years in martial arts - that hasn't done anyone any good. He was not bad in the first round, but in the second he began to get tired, and Merab was just starting to gain momentum,” the functionary said.
Let us remind you that at UFC 298, Dvalishvili won by unanimous decision against the organization’s former champion in two weight categories, Henry Cejudo.
