Makhachev reacted to the outcome of the Volkanovski-Topuria fight

Islam Makhachev, UFC lightweight champion reacted to the early defeat of Alex Volkanovski in a duel with Ilia Topuria. Islam supported Alex and congratulated Elijah.

“Alex is undeniably one of the greatest champions in the featherweight division. Keep your head up and come back stronger! My congratulations to the new champion of Topuria. Good job, bijo!” the fighter wrote on his social networks.

The fight between Alex Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria took place this morning in Anaheim as part of the main fight of UFC 298 and ended with Ilia winning by knockout in the second round. Thus, he became the new UFC featherweight champion.
