Dustin Poirier, the former interim UFC lightweight champion, spoke about the upcoming fight with Benoit Saint Denis. In particular, he reacted to the fact that he is considered an underdog in this confrontation.

“I’m not entirely sure why I’m considered the underdog in this fight. Maybe it's because I lost my last fight. Saint-Denis has a streak of five early victories. In general, he won all the victories in his career ahead of schedule. Perhaps this is the reason. I have been an underdog almost my entire life and I perform better in this status. So for me this is the ideal situation,” said the fighter.

Let us remind you that the confrontation between Poirier and Saint-Denis will take place on March 10 as part of UFC 299.
