Poirier explains why he won't compete at UFC 300

Former interim UFC lightweight champion American Dustin Poirier revealed the reasons why he will fight his next fight at the UFC 299 show, and not at the UFC 300 anniversary tournament.

“When Hunter Campbell and I discussed UFC 300, it was about me fighting in the first or second fight of the main card. And then we moved on to UFC 299, and I was asked to compete in the second biggest event. This sounded much more interesting.

Moreover, the tournament will be held close to my home. I wanted to fight at the anniversary event, but this arrangement seemed more logical to me,” Sportskeeda quotes Poirier as saying.

Let us remind you that at UFC 299 Poirier will face off against Frenchman Benoit Saint-Denis. The show will take place on March 9th in Miami.
